Eleanor Wright Beane (1915-2002) was the granddaughter of Joshua Grainger Wright, and belonged to a very prominent Wilmington ,NC family. She was born at 308 N. 15th Street, and is buried at Mount Lebanon Chapel Cemetery. Her father founded the Cooperative Savings and Loan in 1898, built the Carolina Apartments, and helped secure land for Pemboke Jones' hunting preserve. Elijah's restaurant downtown is named for the family's chauffeur Elijah Bradley.
