Portrait of Susan Eugenia Beery Moore.
Susan Eugenia Beery Moore ()1849-1925) was the daughter of Benjamin Beery. Eugenia was a devoted member of the Methodist Episcopal Church through most of her childhood and early adulthood and later joined Grace Methodist Church when she married Colonel Roger Moore. She served as President of the Ladies Benevolent Society, the oldest woman's organization in the city, for 27 years. It was through her efforts that the Catherine Kennedy home was founded, providing housing, social activities, and physical care for elderly women. Eugenia also helped to establish the Associated Charities with Bishop Robert Strange. She is buried in Oakdale Cemetery.
