Champion McDowell Davis (1879-1975) was a prominent Wilmington businessman and philanthropist. He is best known for the establishment of the Champion McDowell Davis Charitable Foundation in 1963, and the construction of a non-profit nursing home for the elderly in the Porter's Neck area. This home was completed in 1966 and named for his mother, Cornelia Nixon Davis.
