Traudi Thornton was born in Czechoslovakia, raised in Germany, and has lived in Wilmington, NC since 1983. She is a well-known ceramist who is a member of the North Carolina Pottery Center, Her art is on display at Cameron Museum of Art and the University of North Carolina Wilmington, among other places. She has taught at Cape Fear Community College and was the recipient of an Emerging Artist grant from the Arts Council in 1990. Her work has been published in a number of journals including Ceramics Scholars.
