Newspaper clipping of photograph. William (Bill) Edgar Perdew (1919-2013) was born in Wilmington, NC, and was a lifelong resident. He was married to Margaret (Peggy) Moore in 1962. During World War II, he servied in the U.S. Army Air Corps and attained the rank of Captain. On return, he entered the Harvard Business School and in 1947 was award his MBA. He served on the Boards of the following local organizations: Historic Wilmington Preservation Foundation, The Lower Cape Fear Historical Society, Cape Fear Area United Way, Cape Fear Museum, Oakdale Cemetery Board, Cape Fear Community Foundation, North Carolina American Institute, Mid-Atlantic States CPA organizations, The Salvation Army Advisory Board, and the Wilmington Civitan Club. In 2007, he was awarded the Wilmington Civitan Club Citizenship Award for his contributions to the community. He is buried in Oakedale Cemetery.
