Portrait of Fred Little.
Fred Little (1891-1975) was born in Mecklenburg County, NC. He moved to Wilmington, NC in 1908 as an office clerk at the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company. During World War I, Little served in France and was discharged as a Captain. He became involved in the printing business several years later, working for his brother at the Wilmington Printing and Stamp Company. In 1923, Little purchased machinery for a job printing business and founded the Wilmington Printing Company, later changing the name to Wilmington Stamp and Printing Company. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and involved in a number of civic activities in Wilmington.
