Frederick Taylor Tucker (1885-1943) was born in Mocksville, NC. He attended Bingham Preparatory School in Mebane, NC. Tucker worked for a period of ten years for Southern Railway in Winston-Salem, NC and then as a state inspector attached to the North Carolina Demurrage Bureau in Raleigh, NC. He moved to Wilmington, NC in 1917 to take a position as Cashier of the local offices of the Seaboard Railway. In 1921, Tucker was appointed U.S. Division Deputy Revenue Collector with headquarters at the Customs House in Wilmington. He also served for a period of time as secretary of the Republican New Hanover County Executive Committee. Tucker is buried in Oakdale Cemetery.
