Junius Davis (1945-1916) was born in Wilmington, NC, the son of George Davis. He was educated at Cape Fear Military Academy, among other private schools in Wilmington and Charlotte, NC. He enlisted in Moore's Battery (Battery C, Third Battalion, North Carolina Artillery) after the death of his mother in 1863, and served until the close of the war. Davis returned to Wilmington in 1865 where he worked for a dry goods company until his father was released from prison and reopened his law practice. Shortly after, he was admitted to the bar and worked with his father until his death in 1896. Davis acted as legal advisor for the Consolidated Railways, Light & Power Company, and the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company. He also served as the President of Wilmington Railway Bridge Company. Davis was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and is buried in Oakdale Cemetery.
