Kay Sebian (1922-2011) was a peace activist whose deep Catholic convictions led her to a life of political action on behalf of human rights. She was involved in the Democratic party on the national and local level, the league of Women voters, president of the Board of Directors of the YWCA, worked for the Equal Rights Amendment in North Carolina, on the New Hanover County Planning Commission Board, and received many awards for her outstanding service and contributions to the empowerment of women and girls in the county.
