Portrait of James Malcolm Hall, Jr.
James Malcolm "Mike" Hall, Jr. (1906-1975) was born in Wilmington, NC, the son of James Malcolm Hall, Sr. and Ethel Hall. Hall attended New Hanover High School and graduated from the pharmacy school at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. After graduation, he joined his father's drug store business. Hall enlisted in the North Carolina National Guard and served with both the 30th and 66th Infantry Divisions during World War II. He was elected twice to the Carolina Beach Town Council and in 1954 he became a County Commissioner, serving for twenty years. Hall is buried in Oakdale Cemetery.
