Lloyd Wilson (1947- ) was born in Wilmington, NC. He attended Williston High School where he was a member of the Glee Club. Wilson is renowned as a storyteller, musician, write, producer, and director. His music and stories are produced locally, and a program known as, "The Griot," meaning African storyteller, is syndicated to more than 100 public radio stations across the nation. Wilson was awarded the Emerging Artists Program Award in 1992 by the Arts Council of the Lower Cape Fear.
