Captain Frank Conlon (1926 - ) is a retired Navy Captain who was the captain/executive director of the USS North Carolina from 1978 to 1991. The USS North Carolina is one of the area's most famous tourist attractions. While director, he won one of the North Carolina Travel Council's highest honors, the Bill Sharpe Travel Award for Public Service. After serving as director of the Battleship North Carolina, he became a Wilmington city councilman and is currently retired.
