Description	A studio portrait of Helen Lovering, with the description that she was 1 year, 3 days old at the time of the photograph. Although born in Hawthorne, New Jersey, Lovering had strong family ties to Wilmington, North Carolina and lived there for most of her adult life. Daughter of Theodore P. Lovering and Susan Kidder Meares, Helen lived in the Meares family home on Market Street until her death in 1999. She retired from Lovering Office Service and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and the Carolina Yacht Club. Her partner at the time of her death was Camille Carroll (1914-2004), also of Wilmington.
