Title	Wrightsville Beach - Whale - April 1928.

Description	A large sperm whale washed up on the beach (pictured center). The whale measured fifty-four feet in length and thirty-three feet in girth. Its tail was fourteen feet wide and the lower jaw was ten feet long and contained forty-six teeth. The whale was exposed to the boiling sun for several days and produced the most awful odor. Finally, the health hazard was removed to Topsail Island, where the North Carolina Museum of Natural History prepared the skeleton for display in their building in Raleigh, where it remains.
