Title	Dr. James Dickie and Dr. Robert M. Fales
Description	Dr. James William Dickie, son of Herbert Gratsby, Sr. and Kate DuRant Dickie, was born September 20th, 1916 in Wilmington, North Carolina. He married Miss Gladys McDonough, and his father and brother also received their medical degrees. He was educated at Maryville College (1938) and earned his M.D. from the University of Virginia in 1942. Dr. Robert Martin Fales (1907-), son of James Benjamin Franklin and Maggie Delena Hewlett Fales, was born February 25th, 1907 in Wilmington, North Carolina. He married Miss Sarah Taylor, attended Wake Forest and Jefferson Medical College, where he earned his M.D. (1932). He was a member of the Southeastern Surgical Congress and the American Society of Abdominal Surgery. He was President of The New Hanover Medical Society in 1947, and was the main force behind the campaign for New Hanover County Memorial Hospital. He was also a medical historian and lecturer.
