Title	Dr. W.C. Mebane, Jr.? and Dr. J. B. Lounsbury
Description	Dr. William Carter Mebane, Jr. (1907-1971), son of Susan Mott and William Carter Mebane, Sr. (M.D., Urologist) was born September 25th, 1907 in Mount Airy, North Carolina. He married Miss Pauline Eckert and attended Duke and UNC. He received his M.D. from The University of Maryland in 1933. He practiced medicine from 1933-1971. Notable achievements-Co-founder of Cape Fear Memorial Hospital; New Hanover County Board of Education; compiled early history of medicine in the Lower Cape Fear; AMA representative to Vietnam (1967); civic and church leader. He died October 5th, 1971. Dr. James Breckinridge Lounsbury (1909-1974), son of Helen Beeks and Ralph Reed Lounsbury, was born June 29th, 1909, in Wilmette, Illinois. He married Miss Beatrice Thomen and attend Yale University (1931)(1935). He practiced medicine from 1941 to 1969 and was a contributing author to various medical journals. He died June 20th, 1974, in Wilmington, North Carolina.
