Description	Dr. Joseph Ward Hooper, Sr. (1887-1952), was born in Baltimore, Maryland February 17, 1887. He married Louise Smallbones and they had a son, Joseph Ward Hooper, Jr., who was also a Physician. He received his M.D. from the University of Maryland in 1909 and practiced medicine from 1912-1952, and was on the Board of Directors for Wachovia Bank. The Joseph W. Hooper Memorial Lecture is given annually in memory of him. He died in Wilmington, North Carolina in 1952 and is buried in Oakdale Cemetery. Dr. Donald Brock Koonce, (1905-1975), was born in Wilmington, North Carolina September 6th, 1905, the son of Simon Everett and Lila Ward Koonce. He was married to Louise Bellamy Wood and was remarried to Mary Hargrove Bellamy. He receved his education from UNC Chapel Hill (1925) and the University of Pennsylvania where he earned his M.D. (1929). He practiced medicine from 1933-1973. He had many notable accomplishments including: President of the N.C. Medical Society (1957); Senior delegate to the AMA from N.C.; Speaker of House of Delegates of N.C. Medical Society; Pres. and founding member of the N.C. Surgical Assn.; President of the N.C. Chapter of A.C.S.; Commissission on Accreditation of hospitals 1973 until death; Distinguished Service award of The American Cancer Society (1965). First President of The Wilmington Civitan Club 1938-39. He died May 12, 1975. Dr. Duncan Roland McEachern (1905-1970), was born in Wilmington, N.C. July 19, 1905. He is the son of Drusilla and Neil Morris McEachern and married Eloise Melville Shepherd. He was educated at Davidson College (1928) and the Medical College of Virginia, where he received his M.D. (1932). He practiced medicine from 1935-1970. He died July 4, 1970 in Wilmington, N.C.
