Title	Home of Mrs. Preston L. Bridgers
Description	Located at 100 South 3rd Street, (and Dock Streets), the home of Mary Bridgers (granddaughter of John Haywood, treasurer of North Carolina and descendant of Richard Eagles whom Eagles Island is named after) and widow of Preston L. Bridgers, son of Rufus Bridgers, nationally known railroader with Wilmington & Weldon and later the Atlantic Coastline Railroad). Charles McMillen was the Architect and Joseph Schad was the builder. The style is neo-classical revival and the stone used to build the house was shipped from a quarry in Indiana.
