It's
design
and
construction
involved
at

different

James
Church

South
side
of
3rd

Market

Construction
began
in
1751
,
after
an
act
of
legislature
called
for the
erection
of an
Anglican
church
,
however
construction
was not
completed
until
the
early
1770's
.
Prior
to this,
services
were
held
in the
courthouse
. The
original
church
was
consecrated
in
1770
. The
building
was
demolished
prior
to the
construction
of the
present
day
church
, as
seen
in the
picture
.
